I let my mind wander over all the possibilities for the grey train case I posted earlier this month and I finally figured out what transformation it was fated to take. I'm only part-way through the process, but it's now a lovely shade of white!

This is fantastic! I was at our local "flea" market this morning and came across one of these and was VERY tempted to buy it to use for my craft supplies which I carry with me - but I was too scared to do so as I wasn't sure what to do with the scuffed leather finish. Now I shan't be afraid - I'll go back there next week and get it!

I mentioned in the other post that I just got one of these, only the round type....and I wanted to ask, what kind of paint did you use, and did you use a primer first? I am hoping there is a before picture somewhere...
ReplyDeleteYep, I primed with gesso and then used regular ol' acrylic paint, then polyurethaned the heck out of it. I do have a before picture and you can see it here on the Design*Sponge blog post it was featured in:
